Imagine this: you have finally closed the deal for the house that you've been
wanting for so long. It has all that you dreamt of, including a garden that
crowns it all. However, the next day, when you go see your garden, you see that
the best flowers have been unrooted and thrown apart. All of that work is now
down the drain. Then you notice the family dog coming at you with mud all over
his paws and muzzle. It's maybe time to invest in an invisible fence.

Using An Invisible Fence
Advantages and Disadvantages of An Invisible Fence
Getting an invisible fence is a good idea when you own a dog that is very
playful. Because of their nature, dogs tend to experiment with things by barking
at them, digging them, or munching on them. This is why the most common
invisible fence is an invisible dog fence. The fence will limit the dog to an
area so that it doesn't destroy flowers or gardens by accident. It can be a
great deterrent for dogs but most times an invisible fence includes some sort of
punishment for the animal if he crosses it.
The "pumishment" consist of a static shock that is very mild. You might remember
some behavior experiments where dogs are rewarded and punished in order to
modify their behavior. In this case, the punishment is the above mentioned
static shock.
The shock is usually transmitted through a dog collar. It should be at a setting
that won’t hurt the dog to the extent of abusing it but it should sting enough
to so that anytime the dog tries to cross the fence it will remember what might
happen to it. It might take a few tries to get it right (not on the dog, of
course), but once you do, you won't have to worry about your dog damaging your
property or the collar damaging your dog.
