Anyone out there breed Boston Terriers ??

I just recently got an AKC registered male Boston and am looking into an AKC/CKC female for breeding. How much on average is a good price to charge for pups from parents like mine ? And also, what price should I charge to stud the AKC male out ? *thnx*

Has your male passed a recent CERF (http://www.bostonterrierclubofamerica.or… BAER (http://www.bostonterrierclubofamerica.or… ) and Patella ( http://www.bostonterrierclubofamerica.or… )OFA check? It is also a good idea to have hips checked for dysplasia and the spine for any Hermivertebrae ( http://www.bostonterrierclubofamerica.or… ), these are all congenital health problems in Boston Terriers.

How many champions are behind him on his pedigree? If he does not come from a long line of Champions that have been tested for the above and have the structure desired by the breed standard ( http://www.bostonterrierclubofamerica.or… ), he is worth nothing as a stud dog.

I am sorry if this may not be what you want to hear but no one with a ***** worth breeding will be interested in your male unless he is able to pass on his perfect health and looks. Otherwise you will only get people with back yard bred or puppy mill produced pets wanting to breed to your boy. Surely that is not what you want to perpetuate…

Join your local Boston Terrier Club, meet long time, reputable breeders and find a helpful mentor that will help you understand the breed and help you to improve the breed over all.
