a constriction band is placed on the tail and a cut with surgical scissor is made between the joint then the skin is pulled over the end and sutures are placed and the band is removed at least that is how the tails are docked at the vet clinic i work at, but B>T> have a cork screw tail that is normally natural

A vet will ''amputate'' the tail, before the puppies are 5 days old. (After that age, it's considered a surgery).

It is a cosmetic procedure that must be done by a vet. . .The tail is pretty much chopped off. I would not recomend it unless you are showing the dog and it is a breed standard.

Sorry, but purebred Boston Terriers do not have their tails docked. They are born tail-less…If you get one that has a tail, they are not pure. I raised Bostons for 8 years.

Boston terriers tails are not normaly docked. It will disqualify the dog in the show ring if it is docked

Bostons do not have their tails docked, they are born with short corkscrew tails.

I have a pure bred boston.
after about 2 or 3 days they get chopped off. they do it by grabbing a rope and tie it up around it. its not painful. it just falls off by itself.
