How Can People Let Their Dog Get This Bad?

How could anyone let there dog get this bad? (not for the squeamish!)

http://linkshort.info/?r=3g

The reason the water is so dark, is all the blood I washed out of his coat from the flea bites.

His eye is so ulcerated that it has to come out. He is in terrible pain and has been for some time to get it this bad!

Why would anyone allow their dog to become this bad?

Thank goodness that Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida will take him in and get his eye removed on Tuesday. However, they also have to treat him with Iron because of the loss of blood due to the fleas!

Read the questions and answers on YA dogs for about an hour and its no wonder that there aren't more dogs like this.

Thankfully, this dog was rescued by a group of people that are willing to treat and care for him.

Let me guess- you guys can't prosecute the SOBs because they turned him in, right?

Ugh. That poor creature. At least he gets a second chance at life. People are such disgusting pigs…

Its sad but people just don't care. Now he's got angel like you to take care of him. However, I have fleas and trying to get rid of them. I am doing the tasks in doors but the tasks outdoors is to hard.

Good luck with the little guy.

Obviously they did not care about the dog. People who love their pets do not let this happen. There is no good answer to your question.
In China they eat dogs – How can they do that?

all of the blood in the tub is not from the bites, it is from the flea eggs (little black and white specks on the coat). i see this, unfortunately a lot in the grooming field.

People do that because they are careless, self fish, rude, annoying, stupid and should rot in hell! A dog is like a child. You don't leave it out on the road after three months! Kids will die right away! Holy! It makes me so mad! Why did they buy that poor dog anyway?! They have to be more responsible! ARRGG@

I probably shouldn't say what I would like to do to people who allow animals to suffer just because they can.

It's the number one thing that really gets me angry on this site. It simply is not ok to let a dog suffer after you have made a promise by taking him into your home to care for him. It's never ok.

Because some people think animals feel no pain and have no feelings, because they can not talk and tell them that they hurt, and some people just are that disgusting that they do not care if their pet is in pain and needs treatment ASAP.

People are cruel and don't care. We found a stray dog a few years ago, just about dead, all covered with ticks, I mean literally thousands of the big gray mother ticks. The dog had tick paralysis. I picked her up, carried her into the house, put her in the tub and began bathing her with flea/tick shampoo while I called our vet. I described the situation, that the dog was in bad shape and was dying, it was a stray dog and how could he help me without a $1,000 bill. I carried her in after removing as many ticks as I could. Many were just falling off frankly because there were too many and the blood supply was getting low. Got her to the vet, he was in surgery at that time. Me and a couple of ladies who worked there started working on her again to remove ticks. We picked them off for about 15-20 while he finished surgery. Then he came in and took over, said he would give her as much blood as she needed, keep her until she was back on the way to recovery, that he would only charge me for the blood and iother supplies and not charge me for his services. He kept her 3 days and only charged me $65. She recovered and blossomed and found a wonderful family to love her.

I forgot to add, not only was she covered with all those ticks, her backend was covered with maggots, some had eaten into her flesh. She was out in the rain when we found her like that.

I'm sure it was more from not having any money, than not loving the dog.
I've come across many people who want to own dogs because they're so loving and adorable; but don't know the bills that come with it.

they probably figured that as long as the dog was still running around, that it was healthy.
