We rescued her from a 'puppy mill' (HORRIBLE PLACES- SHOULD BE OUTLAWED COMPLETELY)… Anyways, she will latch onto our pugs face and will NOT let go if she's in her 'mode' over dog food or a treat.
We've already tried- separating them at feedings, squirt bottle, yelling, and she doesn't respond.
Are we going to have to give her up to a rescue again or is this aggression towards other dogs at all breakable? She's an absolute sweetheart to people.
Do shock collars work? I hear they're not for aggression purposes.
This type of behavior can be managed, but never cured. If you're willing to put the time and discipline into establishing good solid basic training and a strict routine when both dogs are out together, and never leaving them together when you can't watch them 100%, then contact an experienced trainer to help you form a plan.
If your household is hectic, you have young children or other family members you can't count on to follow through with the routine, it's best to rehome the Boston.
Personally, I believe your Boston would do best in a one-dog home, and that your pug deserves to feel safe in your home, perhaps with another more compatible canine pal.

I would consult a professional trainer on this one. Don't use a shock collar unless you know exactly what you are doing, or it can cause harmful effects. And thanks for rescuing!

Shock Collars don't work they aren't meant for aggressive dogs if your dog is very aggressive you should get a good trainer to help with this problem. Most may say to put the dog down but that isn't the right thing to do you should work hard on this aggression and if u do it most likely will subside

To see someone say "rehome" the dog frankly pisses me off. That is the MAIN REASON WHY there are so many dogs in shelters. Its because of us… We cant train them! I used to work at a vet and now work at PETCO and I can tell you that the number one thing to do is to put your pup into dog training classes. The classes will DEFINITELY work [ignore the previous person when they say there is no cure] and the dog will have a huge come around. Training classes are offered at PETCO, PetSmart, and also through local dog stores. I see what a huge difference it makes everyday. I can personally tell you it would be worth it. You should never give up on an animal. They depend on us and love us for who we are and they would never trade us out or get rid of us. The dog still is very young and the training will absorb much faster because of that. Shock collars wont really work for this particular problem.

hi,
Dog-dog aggression is a very serious matter. Until your dog's successfully treated, keep him a safe distance from all other dogs ("safe distance" meaning the minimum amount of space he needs to remain calm and unstressed).
here's a treatment:
