    First we taught him …
First we taught him to roll over. We gave him cheerios for rewards. Once he learned roll over we would say just the word “bang” as we made the hand gesture to roll over. we would hold him in place on his back so he couldn’t fully roll over while saying “bang, bang”. It only took about a dozen times and he got it. Then we repeated it frequently.

My Lola is only 12 …
My Lola is only 12 weeks but she’s already got “sit” “down” “buddies”-(shake) “High-5″ “Gimmie 10″ and “Get your tail” Try teaching your dog to shake first and keep your palm up…then after he has that move your palm (facing the dog) about head level and get him to “shake” again but use the “High-5″ words. Some repetition and he’ll have in in no time.

It was actually a fluke that he learned that trick so easy. I simply put my hand up before even saying anything and he would put his paw there. I just added the words later. My husband taught the dog most of his tricks with cheerios as reward…then you can do them over and over without filling them too full of treats and they are happy to get anything.

Hey, is that a shag?? My boston has this habit of licking our red shag rug, and then i find lil red threads in her poop. Sometimes a strand is holidng a lil turds hanging out her butt. Crazy Boston !!! But I love her. I’m gonna have to pick up some Cheerios and teach her some stuff other than sit, stay and paw.

    We used cheerios …
We used cheerios for treats and spent about 15minutes a night for about 10 days in a row…to learn a few tricks. We would focus on one trick at a time. On tricks with multiples words like “Bang, you’re dead”, we taught him using “Bang” first, then added the other words.
