How can I? I’ve been trying to teach my boston terrier to sit on the cement floor tiles, etc. Tho i keep pushing my boston terrier butt down. lol! just to make her sit.
Why won’t she? Maybe it’s uncomfortable, like for humans to sit on hard metal bleachers.

The cement might be painful on her legs. Mine don’t really like to sit on concrete, and I really don’t want them to.Do you have that problem on other surfaces?

If your dog can sit in other locations, but not cement, maybe she has an aversion to the cold, hard floor. You didn’t say if she was a rescue, or if you got her from a breeder, but it sure sounds like she just doesn’t like it – maybe it reminds her of a bad place. You can help her though. Bring her to the cement floor a few times a day, and give her treats if she tolerates being on the floor – if you give her the sit command, and she does it – give another treat. If she refuses to obey, don’t give her a treat. You can also make her more comfortable with the surface by playing with her in the room, sitting yourself down on it too. Let her get used to the surface in a gentle way, no forcing. She may be frightened of the hardness, coldness, or the sound her nails make on the floor. She needs to associate the floor with pleasant things, and she will get used to it.

Are you using treats. Try starting with soft surfaces and slowly move to harder surfaces such as dirt or something like that. For some dogs it is uncomfortable. Pushing down on her butt makes her want to push back so it is unlikely that she will learn to sit that way. Try using treats and do it with something she really loves to eat.

Do not force the dogs rear end down to teach to sit, gently tap it, you can hurt the hind quarters on a dog by doing this
and a lot of dogs do not like cement or tile floors.
it will take a lot of love and patience…and then again the dog may never take to this training.
be sure and teach to sit on carpet or grass first, then slowly move to the floors……..
it could be the heat of the floor or that is just to cold on the tile and the dog does not want to sit bare rump on the cold floor.
would you sit down bare rump on cold cement or tile, no, so just take it slow and easy

Are you trying to teach you’re boston terrier to sit? If you’re trying to teach him/her to sit, push down on they’re butt (like you’re doing) and say in a stern voice, "sit!" If she/he stays sitting, give him/her a treat and say, "Good dog!"
