My aunt is planning on mating her boston with my other aunt’s dog, who is also a boston terrier. When the puppies are born, I am getting one. But since my aunt’s dog is still a puppy and didn’t get her period yet, I want to know when they do.
Bostons probably come into season after about 9 months but shouldn’t be bred before they are at least 1 1/2 years.

Tell your aunts to spay/neuter their dogs.

all dog come in to heat at diff. times. Most are over 6 months but can be as late as a year. But they should not have pups til they are 2 years or older, so they have time to mature. You and your aunts really need to do some reading and learn something about having pups. Its not all fun and games, its a lot of hard work!

They don’t.
Humans and primates are the only animals who menstruate aka have their period.
Dogs have their first heats around 6 months of age at the earliest. The Estrus(heat) cycle is nothing like a period. Hopefully your aunts know what they are doing and aren’t just breeding just to breed.
ETA: And no dog should be bred before they are TWO years of age. So hopefully if they do know what they are doing you have a bit of a wait ahead of you before you get that puppy.

If you’re asking on behalf of your aunt who wants to breed as soon as the dogs are fertile, then wow. Shame on her. It’s basic information to know that dogs shouldn’t breed until they’re two years old, so imagine what other essential information about breeding she doesn’t know.
We have enough irresponsible back yard breeders, and having puppies is TOUGH work and costs thousands of dollars. Just because both dogs are the same breed doesn’t mean they live up to breeding standard and are healthy enough to continue the line. She needs to leave it to the professionals and get those dogs fixed.
I know you’d be disappointed since you want one of the puppies, but luckily anyone can get a boston terrier puppy from an animal shelter (25% of shelter dogs are pure bred), a boston terrier rescue organization, or even someone on craigslist who can’t keep their dog anymore. Be careful on craigslist though, don’t get a puppy from someone’s litter, or you’ll just encourage them to keep having puppies since they’ll believe there will always be people to take every puppy. And of course, pet stores are completely out of the question, because of two words: puppy mills.
