Try the local shelter. You can get some really good puppies there and they are already spayed/neutered,and first shots are done. There are 1000's of puppies and dogs that are killed everyday because nobody adopts them. Almost all of them are loving animals that will love you even more for getting them out of a bad place.

Try the humane society or go online to the American Kennel Club to find a breeder if your heart is set on a purebred OR go online and type in the breed and see if there is a breed rescue club near you. I would suggest getting whichever dog you get spayed or neutered. It will be a great pet still, but not add to the over population resulting in the need for humane societies and rescue clubs.

You do realize that an Akita is not a smaller sized dog, right?
Also, go to AKC.org to learn what a reputable breeder is. Never buy from a pet store.

Here are some that should be under $200. Akitas and Golden Retriever/Poodle mixes should actually be bigger when full-grown:

Why on earth would you want a dog under $200? I know that you probably only want a pet, but if you don't want to rescue a dog from a shelter, rather spend your money on a well bred healthy dog and don't support pet shops and puppy farmers. It is going to cost you a lot more in heartache and vet bills if you make the wrong decision. I really hope that you take me seriously and don't think I'm being rude.

I bet you a shelter will have one.

Do you know anything about the dogs you listed? Maybe you shouldn't be looking for a dog just yet. Some of those breed require an experienced handler. They are all so different, not to mention some are considered a LARGE breed. Be careful.
